foundation. <br /> Section 5: It shall be unlawful for any person to make <br /> any excavation under any permanent sidewalk or paved street or alley, <br /> or remove any material from under the same, or from the side of the <br /> same , without securing a permit from the Superintendent of Streets, <br /> under such terms and conditions as he shall see fit to impose. <br /> Section 6: No person shall make any excavation under <br /> any permanent sidewalk except by the means of an auger or other <br /> boring device, whenever the same is practicable, nor shall any person <br /> make such excavation of any greater size than is actually necessary; <br /> and every person making such excavations shall make the same care- <br /> fully and with as little damage to the sidewalk as possible. All such <br /> excavations shall be made under the direction of the Superintendent <br /> of Streets, and it shall be his duty to see that the same are made <br /> properly, and that the terms and conditions which he may have <br /> prescribed for the same are faithfully performed. <br /> Section 7: Any person violating any of the provisions of <br /> this ordinance shall, upon conviction, punished by a fine of not <br /> more than One Hundred ( 100) Dollars , or imprisonment for a period <br /> 'f not more than thirty (30) days , or both such fine and imprison- <br /> ment. <br /> Section 8: That Ordinances numbers 626 and 663 of the city <br /> of Everett, be, and the same are hereby repealed. <br /> Section 9: An emrgency is declared to exist, and this <br /> ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> JitZ,4 <br /> Mayor. <br /> passed APR 21 1914 <br /> Attest 47 <br /> ty lerk. <br /> Published APR 2 3 1914 <br />
