EVERETT POLICE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION <br />PAGE 24 <br /> <br />Option B: On January 1st, earn 110 hours of personal leave for use throughout the <br />calendar year. Those who are employed in EPMA as of January 1 each year and have <br />elected to receive personal leave by December 1 of the year prior, will receive 110 hours <br />of personal leave for use throughout the calendar year. Personal leave is intended to be <br />used in the same manner as vacation and other accrued leave from work; subject to <br />supervisor/manager approval. If the employee is unable to utilize personal leave during <br />the calendar year, it will be cashed out in the last pay period of the year subject to the <br />reporting rules under the Department of Retirement Systems. <br /> <br /> <br />For employees employed in EPMA after January 1st of each year and elect to receive personal <br />leave, leave time will be pro-rated as follows: <br /> <br />Month of Promotion Prorated Personal Leave <br />January 110 <br />February1 March, & April 90 <br />May 80 <br />June 70 <br />July & August 60 <br />September & October 50 <br />November 40 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Upon Separation of employment prior to December 1st, the member will be cashed out based on <br />completed months of service in that calendar year.
