EVERETT POLICE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION <br />PAGE 26 <br />ARTICLE 16 - VACATIONS <br /> <br /> <br />16.1 General. <br /> <br />16.1.1 Vacations shall be considered as regular employment. An annual vacation is of benefit <br />to employees and to the City and all employees should be required to take an annual <br />vacation. <br /> <br />16.1.2 All employees shall accrue vacation credit for each month of continuous service as <br />shown below: <br /> <br />VACATION CREDIT ACCRUED Hours Per Month Hours Per Year <br />8th and 9th Years 13.333 160 <br />10th through 14th Years 14.000 168 <br />15th through 19th Years 15.333 184 <br />20th through 24th Years 16.667 200 <br />25th through 27 years 18.667 224 <br />28th year and beyond 20.000 240 <br /> <br />16.1.3 No vacation accrual will be allowed in excess of two full years earned vacation, except <br />when the employee is on workers compensation. For purposes of this section, vacation <br />accrual will be reported on a regular basis to the employee. Under special <br />circumstances, the Mayor in writing may authorize accumulation of more leave. <br />Otherwise, time not taken which causes accrual beyond two full years earned vacation <br />will be lost to the employee. <br /> <br />16.1.4 At separation of employment any unused vacation hours accumulated by the lieutenant <br />or captain under the provisions of 16.1.3 will be paid at the separating employee's <br />current hourly rate. This payment will be deposited directly into the members VEBA <br />account by the City in lieu of being paid to the employee directly. <br /> <br />16.1.5 Upon death of the employee, the city shall pay the beneficiary 100% of the value of the <br />employee’s existing vacation bank. <br /> <br /> <br />
