45 <br /> <br />ARTICLE 32 - INSTRUCTOR/PROJECT OVERTIME PAY <br />A. Instructor Overtime Pay. <br />Recognizing that an on-going educational system within the EFD would be beneficial to both the Fire Department <br />and Local #46, an instructor rate of pay will be initiated with the following guidelines: <br />1. The level at which the instructor will teach will be established by the Everett Fire Department <br />Training Division. <br /> <br />2. The pay level for EFD instructors will be 1.5 times the employee’s hourly rate. <br /> <br />3. Instructors would be requested to teach his own platoon on duty without additional pay when <br />assigned a block of teaching time, to be established by the instructor and the Training Division. <br /> <br />4. All qualified personnel, as established by the Fire Department Training Division, will have the <br />opportunity to participate in this program. <br /> <br />5. No member shall be required to be an instructor under the terms of this contract. <br /> <br />B. Project Overtime Pay <br />1. The following special projects have been mutually agreed upon by Labor/Management. <br />a) Fit testing <br />b) Site planning <br />c) Labor/Management committees (i.e. rig committee, turnout gear committee) <br />d) FDM or RMS auditing <br />e) PCR review, paper or electronic <br />f) Recruiting <br />g) Equipment, PPE testing <br />h) Bike medic <br />i) First aid station (excluding Event Center) <br />j) Technology implementation projects <br />k) Community risk reduction (community outreach and public education) <br />l) Approved Committees (i.e. Truck, Engine, Safety) <br /> <br />2. Pay for projects will not be used for normal duties or activities performed by the employee in their <br />position. The City is not prohibited from assigning work on projects to employees as other, regular <br />assigned duties or to light duty personnel. <br /> <br />3. The pay level for EFD projects will be 1.5 times the employee’s hourly rate. <br /> <br />4. Qualifications to be eligible for projects will be established by Labor/Management. <br /> <br />5. Hours awarded for the work will, to the extent possible, be equally distributed. IAFF Local 46 will <br />monitor hours annually. Projects will not be split between employees unless mutually agreed to by <br />Labor/Management. <br /> <br />6. Projects and employee selections will be determined by the Fire Administration using the <br />criteria listed above. <br /> <br />7. Subject to Labor/Management agreement, project pay may be offered to assist the <br />Administration in support of work currently assigned to personnel working within the <br />Administration. <br /> <br />C. Event Center Pay
