<br />PGSF WMVD Storm and Combined Sewer - Construction Package 2 Protecting Existing Utilities <br />Project No. 180162 02 01 20 - 3 <br /> <br />C. Construction Submittals <br />1. Submit record copies of all correspondence with Utility Owners. <br />2. Utility Relocation Plans: <br />a. For all Utility relocation work, provide As Built or Record Utility plans prepared by <br />the Contractor. Plans are subject to review by the Utility Owner. <br />b. Submit information as a hard copy or electronic file format specified by the Utility <br />Owner. Record drawings shall show the locations of existing utilities, structures, <br />trees, streets, and ROW limits. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 RELOCATION OR REPLACEMENT IN KIND <br />A. Except as indicated below or as specifically authorized by the Construction Manager, <br />replace or repair utilities with new materials of the same size, type, and quality as that <br />removed or damaged. <br />1. Sewer and Sewer Lateral relocations shall be in accordance with Utility Owner. <br />2. Water line relocations shall be in accordance with Utility Owner, and <br />3. Storm Drain relocations shall be in accordance with Utility Owner. <br />4. Where ACP (Transite Pipe) is removed or damaged, replacement shall be made with <br />Steel or Ductile iron pipe spool and appurtenances. All pipe, fittings, couplings and <br />hardware shall be provided with corrosion protection. <br />2.02 PROTECT STORM DRAIN SYSTEMS <br />A. Protect storm drain systems from construction sediments and debris. <br />B. Obtain Utility Owner approval prior to discharging water into existing drainage systems. All <br />discharged storm water must meet Western Ecology requirements. <br />2.03 PROTECTION OF OVERHEAD UTILITIES <br />A. Provide utility pole bracing when excavation is within close proximity to existing towers, <br />utility poles, or guy wires and anchors. <br />B. Excavation, particularly along the western boundary of Lower Norton Road will be close to <br />existing SnoPUD overhead high voltage power poles. Excavation will be within the prism <br />requiring pole bracing during excavation through complete backfilling and compaction <br />operations. Excavation, shoring and pole bracing must be performed in accordance with <br />SnoPUD requirements. Protection methods must consider the soil type, offset of edge of <br />excavation, excavation depth, and electrical pole foundation dimensions and depth. <br />C. Notify and coordinate with SnoPUD for bracing requirements, inspections, approval of <br />bracing system, and installation. <br />2.04 PROTECTION OF BURIED UTILITIES <br />A. Where utility separations are not meet or where specified, provide Utility supports.
