Before beginning pipeline excavation, determine the true location and depth of utilities
and service connections which may be affected by or affect the Work in accordance with
Section 02 01 10, Existing Utilities, Coordination and Relocation.
B. Work locating, crossing or adjacent to any utility must be completed in accordance with
the Utility Owner’s requirements for protection, notification and stand-by.
1. Notify Construction Manager at least 72 hours prior to excavation adjacent to
crossing utilities.
2. Where utilities are parallel to or cross work, but do not conflict with work, notify the
utility owner at least 48 hours in advance of construction at the crossing. Coordinate
the construction schedule with the utility owner.
