2026 Pavement Maintenance Overlay Special Provisions <br />PW# 3860 SP - 83 March 5, 2026 <br />1 <br />2 8-13.5 Payment <br />3 <br />4 Payment will be made for the following bid items when included in the proposal: <br />5 <br />6 "Adjust Existing Monument Castings to Grade," per each; <br />7 <br />8 The unit contract price for "Adjust Existing Monument Casing to Grade" shall include all <br />9 costs to adjust the casting to finished grade. <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 8-20.GR8 <br />13 Illumination, Traffic Signal Systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and <br />14 Electrical <br />15 <br />16 8-20.2.GR8 <br />17 Materials <br />18 <br />19 8-20.2.INST1.GR8 <br />20 Section 8-20.2 is supplemented with the following: <br />21 <br />22 CNH 8-20.2(9-29.3(2)) DETECTOR CABLE.RTF <br />23 <br />24 Fiber Optic Cable, Electrical Conductors, and Cable <br />25 Section 9-29.3 is supplemented with the following: <br />26 <br />27 9.29.3(2)J Loop Detector Lead-In Cable (New Section) <br />28 <br />29 Loop Detector Lead-In Cable (1 pair) <br />30 <br />31 Two conductor shielded #14 AWG lead-in cable conforming to IMSA <br />32 Specification #50-2-1984 shall be installed where shown in the wiring schedule <br />33 in the Plans. Where existing loop lead-in cable is present, the existing cable shall <br />34 be pulled out and disposed of. The new lead-in cable shall be spliced to the loop <br />35 wires utilizing Buchanan splice caps and crimper and a scotch cast epoxy 82-B1 <br />36 splice kit or approved equal as detailed in City Standard Drawings 806A, B and <br />37 C. Where the wiring schedule in the plans calls for more than one loop detector <br />38 to be spliced into a single lead-in cable, the loops shall be wired in series. The <br />39 loop detector lead-in cable shall be pulled into the controller cabinet and <br />40 connected to the detector channel terminals as indicated in the loop detector <br />41 schedule in the plans. <br />42 <br />43 Loop Detector Lead-In Cable (2 or 3 pair) <br />44 Two or three pair loop detector lead-in cable shall be installed where shown in <br />45 the wiring schedule in the plans. Belden 1037A and 1055A cables are a pre- <br />46 approved source. Other cables may be submitted for approval consistent with <br />47 the following specifications: Multi pair loop detector lead-in cable shall consist of <br />48 two or three individually twisted and shielded pairs of #16 AWG stranded copper <br />49 wire, surrounded by an outer jacket of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Each pair shall <br />50 also contain a stranded copper drain wire and shall be individually shielded with <br />51 an aluminum polyester foil shield. <br />52
