2026 Pavement Maintenance Overlay Special Provisions <br />PW# 3860 SP - 73 March 5, 2026 <br />1 <br />2 At a minimum, the planing and the paving plan must include: <br />3 <br />4 1. A copy of the accepted traffic control plan, see Section 1-10.2(2), detailing each <br />5 days traffic control as it relates to the specific requirements of that days planing <br />6 and paving. Briefly describe the sequencing of traffic control consistent with the <br />7 proposed planing and paving sequence, and scheduling of placement of <br />8 temporary pavement markings and channelizing devices after each days planing, <br />9 and paving. <br />10 <br />11 2. A copy of each intersections traffic control plan. <br />12 <br />13 3. Haul routes from supplier facilities, and locations of temporary parking and staging <br />14 areas, including return routes. Describe the complete round trip as it relates to the <br />15 sequencing of paving operations. <br />16 <br />17 4. Names and locations of HMA supplier facilities to be used. <br />18 <br />19 5. List of all equipment to be used for paving. <br />20 <br />21 6. List of personnel and associated job classification assigned to each piece of <br />22 paving equipment. <br />23 <br />24 7. Description (geometric or narrative) of the scheduled sequence of planing and of <br />25 paving and intended area of planing and of paving for each days work, must <br />26 include the directions of proposed planing and of proposed paving, sequence of <br />27 adjacent lane paving, sequence of skipped lane paving, intersection planing and <br />28 paving scheduling and sequencing, and proposed notifications and coordinations <br />29 to be timely made. The plan must show HMA joints relative to the final pavement <br />30 marking lane lines. <br />31 <br />32 8. Names, job titles, and contact information for field, office, and plant supervisory <br />33 personnel. <br />34 <br />35 9. A copy of the approved Mix Designs. <br />36 <br />37 10. Tonnage of HMA to be placed each day. <br />38 <br />39 11. Approximate times and days for starting and ending daily operations. <br />40 <br />41 5-04.3(14)B3 Pre-Paving and Pre-Planing Briefing <br />42 At least 2 Working Days before the first paving operation and the first planing operation, <br />43 or as scheduled by the Engineer for future paving and planing operations to ensure the <br />44 Contractor has adequately prepared for notifying and coordinating as required in the <br />45 Contract, the Contractor must be prepared to discuss that days operations as they relate <br />46 to other entities and to public safety and convenience, including driveway and business
