April 15, 2026 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The following members of the public spoke: Rhys Stenhouse, Charles Burgess, Tammy Dunn, and <br />Laura Genin. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Several Council Members thanked the public commenters, attended the Sound Transit Town Hall <br />at Everett Station, and mentioned the Charter Review Public Hearing on Saturday, April 18th at <br />Walter E. Hall Golf Course in the Olympic View Room at 11 a.m. <br /> <br />Council Member Weir reported on her attendance at the Arbor Day tree planting at Wetmore <br />Plaza and advised that Thursday April 23 is the Wendt & Mayor’s Arts Awards. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo reported on his attendance at the Budget Committee meeting and <br />Puget Sound Regional Council’s Transportation Policy Board meeting. <br /> <br />Vice President Rhyne reported on her attendance at the Port Gardner Neighborhood Association <br />meeting, advised that Sunday April 19 is the last “Get Ready Market,” and Earth Day is next <br />Wednesday April 22. She also requested an update on the City’s Climate Action Plan and thanked <br />Mayor Franklin for advocating for Everett with Sound Transit. <br /> <br />Vice President Rhyne also stated she will be working with staff to prepare a draft letter of support <br />to Sound Transit regarding the expansion to Everett and will be bringing that letter to Council <br />next week for approval. <br /> <br />Council Member Burbano reported on his attendance at the Arbor Day event and stated he has <br />been receiving complaints of speeding, as well as accidents. He requested the Council review <br />traffic and speed regulations. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy thanked Vice President Rhyne for the letter of support to Sound Transit. <br /> <br />President Schwab encouraged the public to make public comments to Sound Transit regarding <br />the Everett expansion and reminded the public that the District 3 Town Hall is occurring <br />tomorrow at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. <br /> <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION UPDATE <br /> <br />Government Affairs Director Jennifer Gregerson did not have a report. <br />
