May 13, 2026 <br />1 <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., May 13, 2026, <br />by President Schwab. <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Weir, Rhyne, Schwab, <br />Burbano, Zarlingo, Bader, and Tuohy were present. <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Weir recited the land acknowledgement. <br />President Schwab announced the proposed FIFA World Cup Grant was added on to the consent <br />agenda. <br />MAYOR <br />Mayor Franklin read a proclamation declaring May 15 as Bike Everywhere Day. She encouraged <br />the public to attend the event at Everett Station on Friday. Brock Howell, Stations Unidos, <br />thanked the Mayor for the proclamation and made comments on biking and bike infrastructure. <br />Mayor Franklin read another proclamation declaring May as Jewish America Heritage Month. <br />Rabbi Kort, Temple Beth Or, accepted the proclamation and made comments affirming their <br />commitment to the community and the recent building remodel. <br />Mayor Franklin also made comments regarding Sound Transit Light Rail expansion. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The minutes of the May 6, 2026, meeting were approved. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />The following members of the public spoke: Claire Turner, Kat Chin, Daniel Simonton, Keith <br />Jacobson, Rene Pairoa, Bryan Partington and Janean Desmarias. <br />COUNCIL <br />Several council members thanked the public commenters.
