r • f <br /> said section to read as follows: <br /> Section 17: There shall be the following named officers <br /> and assistants in the police department, to-wit: Chief of police, <br /> chief of detectives, four (4) detectives, two (2) sergeants, nine <br /> (9) patrolmen, two (2) auto drivers. The chief of police and chief <br /> of detectives shall be the administrative heads of their respective <br /> departments , It shall be the duty of the assistants in said <br /> departments to perform the duties indicated by the name of their <br /> employment, and such other duties as the chief of the department or <br /> the commissioner of public safety may authorise and direct. <br /> Section 4: That said ordinance be and the same is hereby <br /> amended by adding thereto a section, to be designated as Section <br /> 18, said section to read as follows: <br /> Section 18: There shall be the following named officer <br /> in the Eqployment Bureau, to-wit: employment Agent. It shall be <br /> the duty of such officer to maintain and do all work in connection <br /> with the maintenance and operation of the city employment bureau, <br /> and it shall be the duty of such officer to maintain said bureau <br /> in such manner and to make such reports as the commissioner of <br /> public works may authorize and direct. <br /> Section 5: WfflR.
