. to perform the duties of inspector of weights and measures, as defined by the charter or the ordinances of said city. Section 13. There shall be the following named officer in the employment office, to-grit: An employment agent. It shall be the duty of the said agent to perform the duty relating to said office and to perform such other duties as are provided or may be provided by the ordinances of the city. Section 14. It is the purpose of this ordinance to fix the number and designation of the permanent assistants , deputies , and employees in the various offices and departments of the city of Everett, except the police department, and nothing herein contained shall be construed so as to prevent the various officers and le ads of the various departments of the City of Everett from employing such additional employees as may from time to time be necessary in the proper discharge of the duties of said offices , with the consent of the city council, or from discontinuing such temporary employment when the necessity therefor , s a ceased .tQ exist. Section 15. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 16.
