This budget is based on your email
communications with NCL's Eric Shadle and a meeting at your office in March.
We understand the city would like to upgrade the CP systems on Shore Avenue and Lift Station L In order
to start this task, we need to evaluate the current condition of the CP systems. The following are the general
tasks we would anticipate for this project effort:
1. General CP testing and troubleshooting of both systems: We estimate up to two days in the field
for this effort based for single NCL engineer. If it ends up being less, we will bill accordingly.
2. Depolarization Survey: This is a survey that would be completed approximately 30-60 days after
the general CP survey. At the end of the first survey, NCL would turn the system off to allow it to
depolarize. Testing data from this survey is important for future upgrade designs. We estimate one
day for single NCL person in the field for this effort.
3. Continuity Testing: Based on information gained in our meetings, there is a concern that a portion
of the piping may not be electrical continuous. This will be important to verifli for any future CP
upgrade plans. If this testing is recommended after the general CP survey, it could be completed
afterthe general survey and before the depolarization survey. We estimate up to one day in the field
for this effort based on two person NCL team. If it ends up being less (or single person is able to
complete it, we will bill accordingly-we will know what is required after the initial testing).
4. CP Engineering/Design CP Upgrades: NCL will complete bid ready CP CAD plans and
specifications. At this time, we base this effort on a two-step design submittal. If additional steps
are needed, NCL can accommodate at an additional cost. Budget is also based on completing the
design for both systems at the same time.
5. At this time, we have not included post design bid/construction support. Once we have a better
understanding of how this project will evolve, we would be happy to provide that. This effort could
include answering CP bid related questions/RFls, review CP submittals, attend a CP installation
kickoff meeting, review installation progress, test or witness the post installation testing.
8820 222nd Street SE, Woodinville, WA 98077
Phone (425) 483-1616
Email: pgoodwin@nortoncorrosion.com
www. nortoncorrosion.com
Description Rate Ext.
