EXHIBIT A <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> CITY OF EVERETT <br /> WATER FILTRATION PLANT RESERVOIR 2 <br /> PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br /> The City of Everett(City) seeks engineering services for a predesign report and design of <br /> a new reservoir to supply the Water Filtration Plant(Plant) at Lake Chaplain with potable <br /> water storage for plant processes, drinking water, and fire suppression. The existing <br /> reservoir was constructed in the late 1960s,has an existing coating system with a lead- <br /> based primer, and is likely seismically deficient. Given the limited capacity and the costs <br /> to rehabilitate the existing reservoir, the City desires to construct a new, larger reservoir <br /> and water main to connect it to the Plant. It is anticipated that this reservoir will be <br /> 400,000 to 1,000,000 gallons in capacity. <br /> This project will be undertaken in two phases. Phase 1 will be a pre-design report that <br /> will provide the options available to the City with regard to reservoir location, size, and <br /> materials; water main location; and preliminary costs.
