1 As appropriate, where the wall changes elevation, units can be stepped with grade <br /> 2 or turned into the embankment with a convex return end. Provide appropriate <br /> 3 buried units on compacted leveling pad in area of convex return end. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Cap Installation: <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Place cap units over projecting pins from units below. Pull forward to set back <br /> 8 position. Backfill and compact to finished grade. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Provide permanent mechanical connection to wall units with construction adhesive <br /> 11 or epoxy. Apply adhesive or epoxy to bottom surface of cap units and install on <br /> 12 units below. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 6-20.4 Measurement <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Measurement of "Modular Concrete Block Wall" shall be per square foot of retaining <br /> 17 wall surface using the full wall height (top of base leveling pad to the top of the final <br /> 18 course); no further payment will be made except as shown in the paragraph <br /> 19 "exclusions" below. <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Including: Complete excavation, leveling for base, compaction, gravel backfill for <br /> 22 drains, bricks and shear system, polymer grids, block fill, geotextile fabric, geogrid, and <br /> 23 other miscellaneous supplies. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Excluding: Crushed Surfacing Top Course. <br /> 26 Crusted Surfacing Top Course used for Base Leveling Pad, shall be measured by the <br /> 27 Ton, including haul, as specified in Section 4-04. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 <br /> 30 6-20.5 Payment <br /> 31 <br /> 32 "MODULAR CONCRETE BLOCK WALL", per Square Foot. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 The unit contract price per square foot for "MODULAR CONCRETE BLOCK WALL" <br /> 35 shall be full compensation for furnishing all material, labor, tools, and equipment <br /> 36 necessary to construct the Modular block wall including, but not limited to, shop <br /> 37 drawings (bearing the stamp of an engineer registered to practice in the State of <br /> 38 Washington), masonry units, fiberglass pins, unit fill, backfill and drain gravel backfill as <br /> 39 shown in detail on plans or as directed by the Engineer.
