I CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS e. At the end of each workday, the Contractor shall re-open streets or alleys to allow vehicle access to the maximum extent possible. f. The City may approve full block street closures as part of Contractor's Temporary Traffic Control Plan, as long as no more than two consecutive blocks are closed at a time. g. The Contractor may be directed to not use some streets as truck haul routes. A specific truck haul route plan shall be prepared by the Contractor and submitted to the City for review and approval in advance of all Work. h. Parking spaces are normally very limited in most areas of the project and the Contractor will be required to cooperate with the City in resolving parking issues. In general, businesses and residents who rely on on-street parking and I are displaced by the construction shall be given priority for the nearest available parking location. The Contractor's employees may be required to park their personal vehicles away from the area of construction. 1-08.4(3)C Special Construction Constraints - Restoration a. Maintain pedestrian access during full-block closures. Temporary roadway and sidewalk patching shall be completed prior to re-opening a closed block of street. b. Upon completion of pipe placement (i.e., installation of pipe and trench backfilling), the Contractor shall promptly restore the alley driving surfaces with compacted backfill and gravel or cold-mix asphalt surfacing, and roadway111 driving surfaces with compacted cold-mix asphalt, to permit public use and access for City inspection activities.Also, the Contractor shall promptly begin replacement of curbs and sidewalks, driveways, etc., and restore damaged landscaping and private improvements followed immediately by roadway restoration. 1. Restore curbs and sidewalks, and pave completed trench sections within 30 days of placing pipe. 2. Complete roadway restoration, including final paving, within 45 days of placing pipe. 3. Restore grade and landscaping behind the curbs and sidewalks within 15 days of temporary paving or final paving, whichever comes first. ' c. Failure to meet the constraints in b. above will result in the withholding of future progress payments, until the work is completed. 1-08.5 Time for Completion Delete all of 1-08.5 and substitute the following: 1-08.5(1) General 111 The Contractor shall complete all physical Contract Work within the number of "working days" stated in the Contract Provisions or as extended by the Engineer in accordance with Section 1-08.8. Every day will be counted as a "working day" unless it is a nonworking day or an Engineer determined unworkable day.
