At the end of each workday, the Contractor shall re-open streets or alleys to <br /> allow vehicle access to the maximum extent possible. <br /> f. The City may approve full block street closures as part of Contractor's <br /> Temporary Traffic Control Plan, as long as no more than two consecutive <br /> blocks are closed at a time. <br /> g. The Contractor may be directed to not use some streets as truck haul routes. A <br /> specific truck haul route plan shall be prepared by the Contractor and submitted <br /> to the City for review and approval in advance of all Work. <br /> h. Parking spaces are normally very limited in most areas of the project and the <br /> Contractor will be required to cooperate with the City in resolving parking <br /> issues. In general, businesses and residents who rely on on-street parking and I <br /> are displaced by the construction shall be given priority for the nearest <br /> available parking location. The Contractor's employees may be required to park <br /> their personal vehicles away from the area of construction. <br /> 1-08.4(3)C Special Construction Constraints - Restoration <br /> a. Maintain pedestrian access during full-block closures. Temporary roadway and <br /> sidewalk patching shall be completed prior to re-opening a closed block of <br /> street. <br /> b. Upon completion of pipe placement (i.e., installation of pipe and trench <br /> backfilling), the Contractor shall promptly restore the alley driving surfaces with <br /> compacted backfill and gravel or cold-mix asphalt surfacing, and roadway111 <br /> driving surfaces with compacted cold-mix asphalt, to permit public use and <br /> access for City inspection activities.Also, the Contractor shall promptly begin <br /> replacement of curbs and sidewalks, driveways, etc., and restore damaged <br /> landscaping and private improvements followed immediately by roadway <br /> restoration. <br /> 1. Restore curbs and sidewalks, and pave completed trench sections <br /> within 30 days of placing pipe. <br /> 2. Complete roadway restoration, including final paving, within 45 days of <br /> placing pipe. <br /> 3. Restore grade and landscaping behind the curbs and sidewalks within <br /> 15 days of temporary paving or final paving, whichever comes first. ' <br /> c. Failure to meet the constraints in b. above will result in the withholding of future <br /> progress payments, until the work is completed. <br /> 1-08.5 Time for Completion <br /> Delete all of 1-08.5 and substitute the following: <br /> 1-08.5(1) General 111 <br /> The Contractor shall complete all physical Contract Work within the number of <br /> "working days" stated in the Contract Provisions or as extended by the Engineer in <br /> accordance with Section 1-08.8. Every day will be counted as a "working day" <br /> unless it is a nonworking day or an Engineer determined unworkable day.
