CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> b. Limit of one main-line trenching and pipe-laying crew (as opposed to <br /> restoration or side-sewer crews) at any one time. The City, at its sole discretion, <br /> may allow additional crews, if the Contractor identifies and mitigates all <br /> logistical considerations and community impacts. <br /> c. Limit open trench for any one line to 50 feet, maximum. <br /> d. Contractor shall install replacement side sewers and cleanouts together with <br /> the open cut sewer main installation work. <br /> e. Only solo dump trucks are allowed within the project area. <br /> f. Stockpiling of spoils or imported materials onsite (on streets for more than 8 <br /> hours) is not permitted. <br /> g. All spoils material must be hauled away from the site. <br /> h. While installing mainlines in any one street, construct branch lines for <br /> subsequent extensions of CS or SD to a minimum of 20 feet beyond sidewalk <br /> or ROW, to permit restoration of the mainline ROW. Provide temporary <br /> connection to existing sewer per detail or as otherwise approved by the <br /> Engineer. <br /> 1-08.4(3)B Special Construction Constraints - Traffic Control <br /> a. The Contractor shall submit detailed traffic control plans to the City for review <br /> and approval in accordance with permit conditions, specifications and contract <br /> provisions. Road closures and detours shall only be utilized when necessary <br /> and approved in advance, otherwise the Contractor shall implement traffic <br /> control measures per City Standards - Series 700 and as stipulated by permit <br /> conditions. The City Standards can be found on the City's web site using the <br /> following link: <br /> http://www.everettwa.org/default.aspx?ID=1220 <br /> b. Phase construction in such a manner as to maintain one traffic lane open in <br /> both directions at all times. <br /> c. The duration of street or alley closures for the Contractor's work activities shall <br /> be minimized. The Contractor shall not restrict ingress, egress, parking, and <br /> other uses or access by: <br /> 1. Local residents, to any given section (1 block) of street or alley for a <br /> cumulative period of time exceeding 10 calendar days. <br /> 2. Local businesses or institutions to any given section (1 block) of street <br /> or alley for a cumulative period of time exceeding 5 calendar days. <br /> d. Contractor shall assure that all vehicles and equipment operated by the <br /> Contractor and subcontractors are operated in a legal and safe manner. In <br /> particular all vehicles and equipment shall travel at slow speeds.
