CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS BID ITEM A-38: HDPE PIPE FOR SANITARY SEWER FORCE MAIN, 12 IN. DIA. Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Linear Foot The unit price bid per linear foot for the type and size of sanitary sewer force main pipe shall be full compensation for all labor, material, incidentals, tools and equipment necessary to satisfactorily complete the work as defined in Section 7-20 of the Standard Specifications and these Special Provisions and as shown on the Plans. The unit price per linear foot of HDPE force main pipe shall be full payment for furnishing, hauling, and assembling in place the completed installation including all ductile iron fittings, tees, crosses, reducers, couplings, and sleeves required for complete installation along the run of each pipe size, as shown on the Plans and specified herein. The unit price of sanitary sewer force main pipe shall also include, but is not limited to; all costs for trench excavation; hauling and disposing of surplus material; dewatering, furnishing, stockpiling, hauling, placing and compacting suitable native backfill; furnishing, stockpiling, hauling, placing and compacting sand for pipe zone bedding; cleaning and flushing pipes and existing structures; testing and inspecting pipe; and replacing, protecting and maintaining utilities. Additionally, the following shall be included in the unit price for this bid item: 1. Utility or light pole holding in conformance with the requirements of the applicable utility including scheduling with the utility to hold poles. ' 2. Temporary thrust blocking and dead man blocks, and temporary and permanent restraint systems. ' 3. Pipe separation pads per section 7-08.3(2)J or sand backfill between forcemain and other pipes. 4. Pressure testing of all force mains per section 7-20.3(12) of the Standard Specifications and the Special Provisions. 5. Extra depth, including excavation, backfill and compaction required to clear known buried utilities or other known obstacles. 6. Detectable Marking Tape per section 7-09.3(20). The costs for pot-holing and excavation required to determine exact depths and locations of other utilities shall be considered as incidental to the work and these costs shall be included in the unit contract price. Furnishing, hauling and placing of import trench backfill (Gravel Borrow) shall be paid under "Gravel Borrow". Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the Force Account item. ' Measurement and payment shall be per linear foot pipe measurement shall be based on the actual horizontal length of pipe, measured to the nearest linear foot. The point of beginning or ending of measurement in any particular run of pipe shall be the vertical intersection of the centerline of the pipe measured with the center line of the intersection pipe, or with the beginning or ending of any new linear length of valves or couplings contained within the measured length. At changes in pipe size connected by a reducer, the point of measurement shall be taken as the midpoint of the reducer.
