CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> BID ITEM A-38: HDPE PIPE FOR SANITARY SEWER FORCE MAIN, 12 IN. DIA. <br /> Measurement and Payment: Unit Price per Linear Foot <br /> The unit price bid per linear foot for the type and size of sanitary sewer force main pipe shall be <br /> full compensation for all labor, material, incidentals, tools and equipment necessary to <br /> satisfactorily complete the work as defined in Section 7-20 of the Standard Specifications and <br /> these Special Provisions and as shown on the Plans. <br /> The unit price per linear foot of HDPE force main pipe shall be full payment for furnishing, <br /> hauling, and assembling in place the completed installation including all ductile iron fittings, <br /> tees, crosses, reducers, couplings, and sleeves required for complete installation along the run <br /> of each pipe size, as shown on the Plans and specified herein. <br /> The unit price of sanitary sewer force main pipe shall also include, but is not limited to; all costs <br /> for trench excavation; hauling and disposing of surplus material; dewatering, furnishing, <br /> stockpiling, hauling, placing and compacting suitable native backfill; furnishing, stockpiling, <br /> hauling, placing and compacting sand for pipe zone bedding; cleaning and flushing pipes and <br /> existing structures; testing and inspecting pipe; and replacing, protecting and maintaining <br /> utilities. Additionally, the following shall be included in the unit price for this bid item: <br /> 1. Utility or light pole holding in conformance with the requirements of the applicable utility <br /> including scheduling with the utility to hold poles. <br /> ' 2. Temporary thrust blocking and dead man blocks, and temporary and permanent restraint <br /> systems. <br /> ' 3. Pipe separation pads per section 7-08.3(2)J or sand backfill between forcemain and <br /> other pipes. <br /> 4. Pressure testing of all force mains per section 7-20.3(12) of the Standard Specifications <br /> and the Special Provisions. <br /> 5. Extra depth, including excavation, backfill and compaction required to clear known <br /> buried utilities or other known obstacles. <br /> 6. Detectable Marking Tape per section 7-09.3(20). <br /> The costs for pot-holing and excavation required to determine exact depths and locations of <br /> other utilities shall be considered as incidental to the work and these costs shall be included in <br /> the unit contract price. Furnishing, hauling and placing of import trench backfill (Gravel Borrow) <br /> shall be paid under "Gravel Borrow". <br /> Work required to avoid unexpected or unforeseen obstacles shall be paid for under the Force <br /> Account item. <br /> ' Measurement and payment shall be per linear foot pipe measurement shall be based on the <br /> actual horizontal length of pipe, measured to the nearest linear foot. The point of beginning or <br /> ending of measurement in any particular run of pipe shall be the vertical intersection of the <br /> centerline of the pipe measured with the center line of the intersection pipe, or with the <br /> beginning or ending of any new linear length of valves or couplings contained within the <br /> measured length.
