EVERETT TYOF <br /> I SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> To detail and illustrate the Work, the City's Representative may furnish to the Contractor <br /> additional drawings and explanations consistent with the original Plans. The Contractor <br /> ' shall perform the Work according to these additional drawings and explanations. <br /> The City's Representative may appoint assistants and inspectors to assist in determining <br /> that the Work and materials meet the Contract requirements. Assistants and inspectors <br /> have the authority to reject defective material and suspend Work that is being done <br /> improperly, subject to the final decisions of the City's Representative or, when appropriate, <br /> the City. <br /> Assistants and inspectors are not authorized to accept Work, to accept materials, to issue <br /> instructions, or to give advice that is contrary to the Contract. Work done or material <br /> furnished that does not meet the Contract requirements shall be at the Contractor's risk and <br /> shall not be a basis for a Contract Claim even if the inspectors or assistants purport to <br /> change the Contract. <br /> Assistants and inspectors may advise the Contractor of any faulty work or materials or <br /> infringements of the terms of the Contract; however, failure of the City's Representative or <br /> the assistants or inspectors to advise the Contractor does not constitute acceptance or <br /> approval. <br /> 1-05.3 Plans and Working Drawings <br /> Delete all of 1-05.3 and substitute the following: <br /> After Award of the Contract, the Contractor will receive up to six (6) sets of the reduced <br /> Plans (11" x 17") and accompanying Special Provisions. In addition, the Owner will <br /> supply up to three (3) sets of full size plans (22" x 34"). All Plans and Special <br /> Provisions will be conformed with addenda unless Contractor requests otherwise. <br /> Additional Plans and Special Provisions may be purchased by payment of the current <br /> printing costs. <br /> The Contract Documents include Plans that show such details as are reasonably <br /> necessary to give a comprehensive understanding of the Work. The Contractor shall <br /> submit alterations affecting the requirements and information in the Plans in writing to <br /> the Engineer for approval prior to performing such Work. <br /> The Engineer may supplement the Plans with additional drawings and explanations, <br /> consistent with the purpose and intent of the original Plans, to detail and illustrate the <br /> Work. The Contractor shall perform the Work according to these supplemental <br /> drawings and explanations. <br /> In addition to supplemental drawings furnished by the Engineer, the Contract <br /> Documents may also be supplemented by shop drawings prepared by the Contractor, <br /> material supplier, or manufacturer, when necessary or as required by the Contract <br /> Documents to detail and illustrate portions of the Work. Shop drawings shall be <br /> reviewed by the Engineer before work pursuant to those shop drawings is performed. <br /> Shop drawings may include, but not be limited to, shop details, erection plans, <br /> masonry lay-out diagrams, reinforcing steel and bending diagrams, post tensioning <br /> plans, shoring, cribbing, cofferdam, or falsework plans, formwork plans, or hydraulic <br /> items. Catalog cuts or standard plans for commonly used manufactured items will be <br /> considered as shop drawings. <br /> Unless otherwise requested by the Engineer, the Contractor shall submit six (6) <br /> hardcopies of complete sets of shop drawings or one electronic set in either PDF or <br /> DWG formats directly to the Engineer for review and approval.
