March 26, 2014 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 12:30 p.m., March 26, 2014 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, Council President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Council Members Moore, Murphy, Gipson, Bader, Stonecipher and Anderson were present. Mayor Stephanson and Council Member Roberts were excused. Council President Moore requested a moment of silence for the victims and all those affected by the landslide in Oso. Council President Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the March 19, 2014 City Council meeting were approved as printed. COUNCIL Council Member Gipson questioned the outcome of his request to have the city take a look at the number of cities who have contracts for jail services with Snohomish County. Deputy Police Chief Templeman stated that the city has been notified by the Snohomish County Sheriff that effective May 9, 2014, all of the outside contracts for jail services will be terminated. Council Member Murphy offered his thoughts and prayers to the victims and families of the Oso landslide. Council Member Anderson reported on his attendance at the Public Facilities District Board meeting. He remarked that Standard and Poor's have downgraded the PFD's bond rating on the fixed rate debt from an A- to BBB. Council Member Bader reported on his attendance at the Council of Neighborhoods' meeting.
