April 20, 2016 <br /> Considerable discussion ensued. <br /> President Murphy asked staff to provide the Council with an update about <br /> the public comment period, follow-up process, and decision timeframe. <br /> Debra Bryant, Administration, stated that the Planning Department will <br /> report back to the Council with that information. <br /> Mayor Stephanson stated that the Planning Department is working with <br /> the developer on alternative structure design. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles had no comments. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Jackie Minchew, Everett, spoke about climate change and climate <br /> activism. <br /> Gary Watts, Everett, recognized the efforts of city staff in resolving the <br /> homelessness issues on Smith Street, and he offered suggestions for <br /> additional actions. <br /> Laura Genin, Everett, spoke about the downtown historic area problems <br /> and suggested implementing additional fire inspection requirements. <br /> Mayor Stephanson stated that city staff is addressing these problems and <br /> the Council will receive an update within 60 days. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher inquired about the enforcement piece of the <br /> minimum maintenance ordinance and implementing sprinkler system <br /> requirements for old buildings. <br /> Debra Bryant, Administration, stated staff will report back to the Council. <br /> 128 <br />
