I INTRODUCTION Ii 2 The following Amendments and Special Provisions shall be used in conjunction with the 2016 3 Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction. I 4 5 AMENDMENTS TO THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS 6 I 7 The following Amendments to the Standard Specifications are made a part of this contract and 8 supersede any conflicting provisions of the Standard Specifications. For informational 9 purposes, the date following each Amendment title indicates the implementation date of the Amendment or the latest date of revision. I10 11 12 Each Amendment contains all current revisions to the applicable section of the Standard 13 Specifications and may include references which do not apply to this particular project. I 14 15 Section 1-06, Control of Material January 4, 2016 116 17 This section is supplemented with the following new section and subsections: 18 I 19 1-06.6 Recycled Materials 20 The Contractor shall make their best effort to utilize recycled materials in the construction of 21 the project; the use of recycled concrete aggregate as specified in Section 1-06.6(1)A is a I 22 requirement of the Contract. 23 24 The Contractor shall submit a Recycled Material Utilization Plan as a Type 1 Working I 25 Drawing within 30 calendar days after the Contract is executed. The plan shall provide the 26 Contractor's anticipated usage of recycled materials for meeting the requirements of these 27 Specifications. The quantity of recycled materials will be provided in tons and as a 28 percentage of the Plan quantity for each material listed in Section 9-03.21(1)E Table on I29 Maximum Allowable Percent (By Weight) of Recycled Material. When a Contract does not 30 include Work that requires the use of a material that is included in the requirements for 31 using materials the Contractor may state in their plan that no recycled materials are I 32 proposed for use. 33 34 Prior to Physical Completion the Contractor shall report the quantity of recycled materials ' 35 that were utilized in the construction of the project for each of the items listed in Section 9- 36 03.21. The report shall include hot mix asphalt, recycled concrete aggregate, recycled 37 glass, steel furnace slag and other recycled materials (e.g. utilization of on-site material and I 38 39 aggregates from concrete returned to the supplier). The Contractor's report shall be provided on DOT Form 350-075 Recycled Materials Reporting. 40 I 41 1-06.6(1) Recycling of Aggregate and Concrete Materials 42 43 1-06.6(1)A General I 44 The minimum quantity of recycled concrete aggregate shall be 25 percent of the total 45 quantity of aggregate that is incorporated into the Contract for those items listed in Section 46 9-03.21(1)E Table on Maximum Allowable Percent (By Weight) of Recycled Material that I47 allow the use of recycled concrete aggregate. The percentage of recycled material 48 incorporated into the project for meeting the required percentage will be calculated in tons 49 based on the quantity of recycled concrete used on the entire Contract and not as 50 individual items.
