I <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> Ii <br /> 2 The following Amendments and Special Provisions shall be used in conjunction with the 2016 <br /> 3 Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction. <br /> I 4 <br /> 5 AMENDMENTS TO THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS <br /> 6 <br /> I 7 The following Amendments to the Standard Specifications are made a part of this contract and <br /> 8 supersede any conflicting provisions of the Standard Specifications. For informational <br /> 9 purposes, the date following each Amendment title indicates the implementation date of the <br /> Amendment or the latest date of revision. <br /> I10 <br /> 11 <br /> 12 Each Amendment contains all current revisions to the applicable section of the Standard <br /> 13 Specifications and may include references which do not apply to this particular project. <br /> I 14 <br /> 15 Section 1-06, Control of Material <br /> January 4, 2016 <br /> 116 <br /> 17 This section is supplemented with the following new section and subsections: <br /> 18 <br /> I 19 1-06.6 Recycled Materials <br /> 20 The Contractor shall make their best effort to utilize recycled materials in the construction of <br /> 21 the project; the use of recycled concrete aggregate as specified in Section 1-06.6(1)A is a <br /> I 22 requirement of the Contract. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 The Contractor shall submit a Recycled Material Utilization Plan as a Type 1 Working <br /> I 25 Drawing within 30 calendar days after the Contract is executed. The plan shall provide the <br /> 26 Contractor's anticipated usage of recycled materials for meeting the requirements of these <br /> 27 Specifications. The quantity of recycled materials will be provided in tons and as a <br /> 28 percentage of the Plan quantity for each material listed in Section 9-03.21(1)E Table on <br /> I29 Maximum Allowable Percent (By Weight) of Recycled Material. When a Contract does not <br /> 30 include Work that requires the use of a material that is included in the requirements for <br /> 31 using materials the Contractor may state in their plan that no recycled materials are <br /> I <br /> 32 proposed for use. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Prior to Physical Completion the Contractor shall report the quantity of recycled materials <br /> ' 35 that were utilized in the construction of the project for each of the items listed in Section 9- <br /> 36 03.21. The report shall include hot mix asphalt, recycled concrete aggregate, recycled <br /> 37 glass, steel furnace slag and other recycled materials (e.g. utilization of on-site material and <br /> I <br /> 38 <br /> 39 aggregates from concrete returned to the supplier). The Contractor's report shall be <br /> provided on DOT Form 350-075 Recycled Materials Reporting. <br /> 40 <br /> I <br /> 41 1-06.6(1) Recycling of Aggregate and Concrete Materials <br /> 42 <br /> 43 1-06.6(1)A General <br /> I 44 The minimum quantity of recycled concrete aggregate shall be 25 percent of the total <br /> 45 quantity of aggregate that is incorporated into the Contract for those items listed in Section <br /> 46 9-03.21(1)E Table on Maximum Allowable Percent (By Weight) of Recycled Material that <br /> I47 allow the use of recycled concrete aggregate. The percentage of recycled material <br /> 48 incorporated into the project for meeting the required percentage will be calculated in tons <br /> 49 based on the quantity of recycled concrete used on the entire Contract and not as <br /> 50 individual items. <br /> RIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT NORTH WETLAND COMPLEX 1 <br />
