I <br /> 1 material furnished which does not meet the Contract requirements shall be at the <br /> 2 Contractor's risk and shall not be a basis for a Contract Claim even if the inspectors or <br /> 3 assistants purport to change the Contract. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Assistants and inspectors may advise the Contractor of any faulty work or materials or <br /> 6 infringements of the terms of the Contract; however, failure of the Owner's <br /> 7 Representative or the assistants or inspectors to advise the Contractor does not <br /> 8 constitute acceptance or approval. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 1-05.3 Plans and Working Drawings <br /> 1 11 <br /> 12 Section 1-05.3 is modified to read as follows: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 After award of the contract, the Contractor will receive six (6) sets of the reduced plans <br /> I15 (11" x 17") and accompanying Special Provisions. In addition, the City will supply three <br /> 16 (3) sets of large plans (22" x 34"). <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Upon request of the Contractor, one set of reduced plans and accompanying Special <br /> 19 Provisions will be issued to approved subcontractors and suppliers. <br /> 20 Additional plans and Special Provisions may be purchased by payment of the current <br /> I 21 printing costs. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 The Contract Documents include drawings that show such details as are reasonably <br /> 24 necessary to give a comprehensive understanding of the work. The Contractor shall <br /> 25 submit any alterations affecting the requirements and information in the drawings in <br /> 26 writing to the Engineer for approval prior to performing such work. <br /> I 27 <br /> 28 The Engineer may supplement the drawings with additional drawings and explanations, <br /> 29 consistent with the purpose and intent of the original drawings, to detail and illustrate the <br /> I 30 <br /> 31 work. The Contractor shall perform the work according to these supplemental drawings <br /> and explanations. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 In addition to supplemental drawings furnished by the Engineer, the Contract Documents <br /> I 34 may also be supplemented by shop drawings prepared by the Contractor, material <br /> 35 supplier, or manufacturer, when necessary or as required by the Contract Documents to <br /> 36 detail and illustrate portions of the work. Shop drawings shall be reviewed by the <br /> I 37 Engineer before any work pursuant to those shop drawings is performed. Shop <br /> 38 drawings may include, but may not be limited to: shop details; erection plans; masonry <br /> 39 lay-out diagrams; reinforcing steel and bending diagrams; post tensioning plans; shoring, <br /> I 40 cribbing, cofferdam, or falsework plans; formwork plans, or hydraulic items. Catalog cuts <br /> 41 or standard plans for commonly used manufactured items will be considered as shop <br /> 42 drawings. <br /> I 43 <br /> 44 Unless otherwise requested by the Engineer, the Contractor shall submit six (6) <br /> 45 complete sets of shop drawings directly to the Engineer for review and approval. If the <br /> 46 design engineer is a full time employee of the City, the Contractor may expect ten (10) <br /> I 47 working days from submission for review and return of comments. If the design <br /> 48 engineer is not a full time employee of the City, the Contractor should expect thirty <br /> 49 calendar days from submission for review and return of comments. The Engineer may <br /> I 50 extend this time for good cause by notifying the Contractor. The Engineer will check and <br /> 51 return three (3) copies of such drawings. On all submittals of a drawing after the <br /> 52 drawing's initial submittal and return, the Contractor shall: make any corrections required <br /> I53 by the Engineer; expressly and explicitly notify the Engineer in writing of any and all <br /> IRIVERFRONT DEVELOPMENT NORTH WETLAND COMPLEX 25 <br />
