G. Section 218 of the 2000 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is hereby amended by <br /> deleting the following: <br /> Plumbing System -The plumbing system means and includes all potable water supply and <br /> distribution pipes, all plumbing fixtures and traps, all drainage and vent pipe and all <br /> building drains, including their respective joints and connections, devices, receptors, <br /> receptacles and appurtenances within the property lines of the premises and shall include <br /> potable water treating or using equipment, fuel gas piping, water heaters and vents for <br /> same. <br /> and inserting in its place: <br /> Plumbing System -The plumbing system means and includes all potable water systems <br /> and distribution pipes, all plumbing fixtures and traps, all drainage and vent pipe and all <br /> building drains, including their respective joints and connections, devices, receptors, <br /> receptacles and appurtenances within the property lines of the premises and shall include <br /> potable water piping, and potable water treating or using equipment. <br /> H. The 2000 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is hereby amended by deleting Chapter <br /> 12 of the Code in its entirety. <br /> Notwithstanding any wording in the 2000 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code or the <br /> Uniform Plumbing Code Standards, neither the Uniform Plumbing Code nor the Uniform <br /> Plumbing Code Standards shall apply to the installation of gas piping, water heaters, or <br /> vents for water heaters. <br /> J. An additional chapter, Chapter 16, is hereby added to the Uniform Plumbing Code to <br /> read as follows: <br /> 1. IN GENERAL <br /> A. Prohibition: Any pipe solder, or flux, which is used after the enactment of the <br /> Safe Drinking Water Act Amendments of 1986, in the installation or repair of: <br /> 1. any public water system, or <br /> 2. any plumbing in a residential or nonresidential facility providing water for <br /> human consumption which is connected to a public water system <br /> shall be lead free (within the meaning of subsection 3). This paragraph shall not <br /> apply to leaded joints necessary for the repair of cast iron pipes. <br /> B. Public Notice Requirements: <br /> DEDI/ORDINANCE/UNIF PLUB CODE 2000 <br />
