*44 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2657-02 <br /> An Ordinance Amending the Zoning Code (Ordinance No. 1671-89, 1849-92, and 2397-99 as <br /> amended, Title 19 EMC)related to "Housekeeping"Items <br /> WHEREAS, the City did adopt Ordinance No.1671-89 establishing a new Zoning Code which <br /> became effective on January 13, 1990; and <br /> WHEREAS,periodic changes to the Zoning Code are required to correct errors, simplify <br /> existing code provisions or to make the code internally consistent; <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed amendments are housekeeping in nature, involve no substantive or <br /> policy matters, and will correct spelling, format, typographical, and other errors; and <br /> WHEREAS, new definitions are needed for some of the existing and proposed new terms used <br /> in the Zoning Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public workshop and public hearing to gather <br /> public testimony and review the standards and regulations related to the"housekeeping" items; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended that the City Council approve the <br /> proposed amendments to the Zoning Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed revisions to the Zoning Code are <br /> consistent with the applicable provisions of the Everett general plan,bear a substantial relation to <br /> public health, safety or welfare and promote the best long-term interests of the Everett <br /> community; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Section 4.020 (C) of Ordinance No.1671-89, as amended <br /> (EMC 19.04.020 (C)), is hereby amended by the addition of the following Definition: <br /> "Consumer Services"means a business or occupation which is performed primarily off <br /> site and can include services such as: pest control, chimney sweep, carpet cleaners, <br /> contractors,janitorial, and landscaping. Only those support activities, such as office <br /> work, and storage of equipment, is conducted at the business location. <br /> Section 2. Section 4.020(D) of Ordinance No.1671-89, as amended (EMC 19.04.020((D)), <br /> definition of "Directional sign"which reads: <br />
