•
•
Ted Budden w 'd'
From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:
Ted Budden
Wednesday, May 14, 2014 10:05 AM
Kevin Fagerstrom
RE: 2022 Highland Ave.
Hella Kevin,
! was able to research these cancerns. Here are my findings and foilow up.
The property is currently for sale and being advertised through the real estate multiple listing Service. This advertising is
available to anyone via the internet.
I researched the current MLS advertisement presented through the "REDFIN" website. Nere is a brief summary of my
findings.
A. The home is being sold "as is" with a detailed description that states that the home needs the attention of an
electrician and that the electrical wiring could be hazardous. The statement includes a description ofi a"new breaker"
that is partially installed in the basement area of the house. 7he home is further described as a construction site. In
addition, tle REDFIIV listing has phota attachments that represent the construction work in great detail.
I performed a permit check vf the buifding department records and have deterrrined that permits for the electrical and
construction wflrk at this house have never been issued.
B. I visited the site yesterday to view the property from the exterirr. Whi6e there 1 posted a stop work order and an
Enlawful Structure placard on the house for the urpermitted work and the constructian activity. The postings were
placed adjacent to the front door.
C. While on the premises I abserved that the main "strike" connection for the building electrical service has become
disconnected and is likely to be damaged by a passing vehicle. This candition is UNSAFE. The electrical utiiity will be
advised af this discovery and make the determination as to whether the power to this building should be disconnected.
Photos were taken during the site isit that will be entered into the CRW system
I strongly support and recommend enforcement actian on this praperty.
di : •![iC'i
From: Kevin Fagerstrom
Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2014 9:40 AM
To: Ted Budden
Cc: Tony Lee
Subject: 2022 Highland
Ted,
I got a call from the new L&I area supervisor. He got a call from a prospective buyer who was up and looked at
this property. It is vacant and likely being sold as a foreclosure, but this buyer told L&I that it has a brand new
service and quite a bit of new plumbing, all w/o permits. I'll get up there for some photos, but could you
please have someone take a look as well and then let me know how you want to handle.
Thanks!
