Dear Mr. Harris,
I'm sending this in regards to a request by several neighbors
that want to have some trees removed from Dover Street.
My name is Norman Oss and I have lived at 4630 Darlington
Lane since 1977. My house is at the Northwest corner of Bailey
and Darlington. I back out of my driveway onto Darlington and go
down the hill to Dull where I turn right and go to Dover. I turn left
on Dover to enter Mukilteo Boulevard. I use this route as it is far
safer than the intersection of Bailey and Greeley where I have had
several close calls with speeding traffic going North on Greeley.
Over the years I have witnessed the growth and
encroachment of the mentioned trees into Dover Street. Many
times I have had to stop and back up to let a school bus proceed up
Dover as the trees have made the road so narrow at that point that
we can not pass without the school bus running through the
branches of the trees.
I have seen the litter of branches on Dover after a strong
wind storm and some of them have been too large in diameter to
drive over with my car. However, it doesn't take a strong storm;
just a high wind will cause branches to fall. During times of high
wind or strong storms I avoid Dover as I fear for my safety from
falling limbs.
I feel that it is only a matter of time until a large section of
one of those trees breaks off and crushes a school bus or goes
through the roof of the house at 1722 W. Mukilteo Boulevard. I'm
surprised that it hasn't happened alread.
,, .
 ,, .
Norman Oss
