I''l'►i1
'i►,,;_+-'✓
August 3, 2004
International Forestry
CONSULTANTS,INC.
1 1232 120'h Avenue NE #201 • Kirkland. WA 9Fi0.33 • USA
Mr. L.arry Cram
City of Everett, Street Department
3200 Cedar St.
Everett, WA 98201
Dear Mr. Cram:
Re: 7ree 1903 Rockefeller , Everett, WA
At your request, I have examined a Big leaf Maple (Acer mac►nphyllum) standing at 1903
Rockefeller Avenue in Everett, Washington. The purpose af the examination was to
determine the hazard rating of the subject tree and suggest remedial action if appropriate.
The tree was examined on August 2,2004 by Tom Hanson.
Tree detail is attadied on the "Tree hazarc! Evaluation Form".
The subject tree is 80 or more years in age with a single trunk. It is an over- mature tree that
has reached its life span. f did not find evidence of fungal invasion or decayed wood.
However the tree has small, discolored leaves and appears to be in decline, particularly on
the north side.
The soil around the tree is mounded and the sidewalk is heaved and despite recent repairs is
causing a significant hazard condi#ion. Proposed sidewalk repairs will cut roots on the west
and north side. This cutting will most likely extend 2-feet or more in depth. This activity will
exacerbate the current declining condition as well as destabilize the tree.
(t is my recommendation that this tree be removed.
There is no wa►ranty suggested for any of the t►Ees subject to this report. Weather, latent
tre conditions, and future man-caused activities cou/d cause physiologic changes and
deteriorating t►e condition. Over time, deteriorating tre conditions may appear and there
may be conditions, which are not now visible which, cou/d cause tre failur. This report or
the ve►ibal comments made at the site in no way warrant the structural stability or long term
condition of any t►e, but reprsent my opinion based on fhe observations made.
Nearly all tes in any condition standing within reach of imp►vemerts or human use ares
rpresent hazards that cou/d /ead to damage or injury.
Please call if I can be of further assistance.
Sincerety,

  G
Thomas M.
