He asked Council members to check their <br /> calendars and report back if that date would work for them. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> City Attorney Iles introduced Police Chief Templeman and Hil Kaman, <br /> Director of Public Health and Safety, who provided an update on the <br /> Community Streets Initiative. <br /> Chief Templeman provided a few updates from the Police Department, <br /> including hiring two social workers and assigning Sergeant Mike Braley to <br /> the Community Outreach and Enforcement Team, the involvement with <br /> the Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Institute (PAARI), activity of <br /> the Safe Streets work crew, the Police Department's use of Naloxone to <br /> prevent opiate overdoses and their crisis Intervention training. <br /> Hil Kaman, Director of Public Health and Safety, provided an update on <br /> the CHronic-Utilizer Alternative Response Team (CHART) program, and <br /> supportive housing efforts, including working with providers for scattered <br /> site housing and Catholic Housing Service running the capital project for <br /> permanent housing. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Jonathan Hopkins, Uber, thanked Council for considering updates to the <br /> for-hire vehicle regulations and expressed the importance of differentiating <br /> between transportation network companies (TNCs) and taxis in the <br /> updates. <br /> 266 <br />
