Ted Budden
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Tuesday, May 12, 2015 8:39 AM
To: Donald Cunningham
Subject: RE: Message from "NPCCODRICOH3502"
Good Morning Don,

I researched CRW, Polk Directory and Microfiche files for information related to your inquiry about the building located
at 5114 south 3rd Ave. Here are my findings.
I found a permit dated 1981 signed by Peter Bjorklund who apparently still owns the property the permit application
and permit indicates single family use.
Another permit from 1990 indicates the same single family status.
Snohomish County Tax Assessors records indicate single family status with unfinished basement.
The 1991 Polk Directory indicates that Peter W Bjorklund was the occupant residing at this address at that time.
The 1999 Polk Directory indicates that three occupants were residing at this address.
All of my research indicates that the building is approved for use as a single family residence only.
The alterations that you describe in the email and that are depicted in your photo attachments indicate that the
structure has been altered from the approved single family use to the current multi- family condition.
These alterations have been made contrary to law and are prohibited by code. The alteration of this building in this
manner is an "Unlawful Act" per International Property Maintenance Code section 106.1. This alteration has created an
"Unlawful Structure" as defined by International Property Maintenance Code Section 108.1.4
I support and encourage Enforcement action in this matter.
If you have questions or require further assistance please contact me.
Regards
Ted Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Division
-----Original Message-----
From: Donald Cunningham
Sent: Monday, May 11, 2015 3:02 PM
To: Ted Budden
Subject: FW: Message from "NPCCODRICOH3502"
Ted-
Please see the attached email I sent you - but cannot find a response. I attached Ingalsbe reply in case it helps. The
structure is currently being used as a rental triplex and I am told it has been used that way for many years.
