40 <br /> 4111, 41,2 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2688-03 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1561-89 and <br /> authorizing sewer utility funding to encourage installations of <br /> sanitary sewers in unsewered areas of the City and establishing <br /> rates and charges related thereto. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1561-89, as amended by <br /> Ordinance 2084-95, which reads as follows: <br /> Section 1: The Everett Sewer Utility is authorized to pay up to $4,000 <br /> per single-family residence to encourage formation of Local Improvement <br /> Districts for the sole purpose of constructing public sanitary sewers or <br /> which include the construction of public sanitary sewers. <br /> In addition, the Everett Sewer Utility is authorized to pay up to <br /> $4,000 per single-family residence toward the City's cost of constructing <br /> public sanitary sewers in small, residential areas within the City's <br /> corporate limits that are not served by sanitary sewers. <br /> In all cases, the $4,000 City payments shall apply only to single- <br /> family residences that exist at the time the public sewer mains are <br /> constructed. Also, the $4,000 payments shall be made in the form of <br /> credits deducted from the residences' proportionate shares of the City's <br /> cost of constructing the sanitary sewers. The $4,000 payments shall not <br /> be rebates or cash disbursements to new sewer customers. Further, the <br /> $4,000 payments apply only to single-family residences benefiting from <br /> public sanitary sewer mains constructed by city crews or by construction <br /> contractors officially retained by the City of Everett. <br /> Is hereby amended to read: <br /> Section 1: The Everett Sewer Utility is authorized to pay up to $4,000 <br /> per single-family residence or business or other City Water Utility <br /> customer on a septic system to encourage formation of Local <br /> Improvement Districts for the sole purpose of constructing public sanitary <br /> sewers or which include the construction of public sanitary sewers. <br /> In addition, the Everett Sewer Utility is authorized to pay up to <br /> $4,000 per single-family residence or business or other City Water Utility <br /> customer on a septic system toward the City's cost of constructing public <br />
