� <br />� <br />17. High-Piled Storaqe - Buildings containing high-piled combustible storage shall be in <br />accordance with Chapter 23 of the 2009 Internationai Fire Code and NFPA 13. A F'ire <br />Department permif is required for high-piled storage. <br />A drawing showing design of the racks shall be submitted fio the City of Evereffi <br />Engineering & Public Services and Fire Departments. <br />18. All fire alarm control panels (FACP) and sprinkler valves shall be in heated rooms or <br />closets with standard man door access. Locations shail be approved by the Fire Code <br />Official. <br />19. The location of Fire Department connecfions (FDC) and post indicator valves (PIV) shall <br />be determined by the Fire Code Official. lf immediate outside man door access is available <br />to the sprinkler valves {risers}, a PIV will not be required. <br />20. Access raad width with a hvdrant - Where a fire hydrant is located on a fire apparatus <br />access road, the rninimum road width shall be 26 feet. <br />21. Grade - Fire apparatus acce�s roads shall nof exceed 10% in grade. <br />22. Commercial and industriai buildings exceeding 30 feet or three sfiories in height shall have <br />at least two means of fire apparatus access for each structure. <br />23. Buildings or portions of buildings or facilities exceeding 30 feet in height above the lowest <br />level of fire department vehicle access shall be provided with approved fire apparatus <br />access roads capable of accommodating fire department aerial apparatus. Overhead <br />utilitv and power lines shal! not be located within fhe aerial fire apparatus access <br />roadwav. <br />24. Fire apparatus roads shall have a minimum unobstructed width of 26 feet in the immediafe <br />vicinity of any building or portion of building more than 30 feet in height. i4t least one of <br />fhe required access routes shall be located uviihin a minimum of 15 feet and a <br />maximum of 30 feet from the buildinq and shall be positioned paraflel to one entire <br />side of the buildina. <br />25. Where elevators are provided in buiidings, at least one efevator shall be provided for fire <br />departrneni emergency access to all floors. The elevator car shall be of such a size and <br />arrangement to accommodate a 24-inch by 84-inch ambulance streficher in the horizontaf, <br />open position and shall be identified by the international symbol for emergency medical <br />services (star of life). The symbol shall not be less than 3 inches high and shall be placed <br />inside on bofh sides of the hoistway door frame. <br />Excep#ion: ff all stories within the bui(ding have direct, accessible egress to grade (EMC <br />1 G.01, Section V). <br />26. A building footprint and lot layout for this project shaEl be provided to fihe Fire Marshal's <br />Office on CD/DVD. <br />
