� � 17. High-Piled Storaqe - Buildings containing high-piled combustible storage shall be in accordance with Chapter 23 of the 2009 Internationai Fire Code and NFPA 13. A F'ire Department permif is required for high-piled storage. A drawing showing design of the racks shall be submitted fio the City of Evereffi Engineering & Public Services and Fire Departments. 18. All fire alarm control panels (FACP) and sprinkler valves shall be in heated rooms or closets with standard man door access. Locations shail be approved by the Fire Code Official. 19. The location of Fire Department connecfions (FDC) and post indicator valves (PIV) shall be determined by the Fire Code Official. lf immediate outside man door access is available to the sprinkler valves {risers}, a PIV will not be required. 20. Access raad width with a hvdrant - Where a fire hydrant is located on a fire apparatus access road, the rninimum road width shall be 26 feet. 21. Grade - Fire apparatus acce�s roads shall nof exceed 10% in grade. 22. Commercial and industriai buildings exceeding 30 feet or three sfiories in height shall have at least two means of fire apparatus access for each structure. 23. Buildings or portions of buildings or facilities exceeding 30 feet in height above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access shall be provided with approved fire apparatus access roads capable of accommodating fire department aerial apparatus. Overhead utilitv and power lines shal! not be located within fhe aerial fire apparatus access roadwav. 24. Fire apparatus roads shall have a minimum unobstructed width of 26 feet in the immediafe vicinity of any building or portion of building more than 30 feet in height. i4t least one of fhe required access routes shall be located uviihin a minimum of 15 feet and a maximum of 30 feet from the buildinq and shall be positioned paraflel to one entire side of the buildina. 25. Where elevators are provided in buiidings, at least one efevator shall be provided for fire departrneni emergency access to all floors. The elevator car shall be of such a size and arrangement to accommodate a 24-inch by 84-inch ambulance streficher in the horizontaf, open position and shall be identified by the international symbol for emergency medical services (star of life). The symbol shall not be less than 3 inches high and shall be placed inside on bofh sides of the hoistway door frame.
