January 28, 2014
•
PUBL1 C WORKS
Mr. Pete Stokesberry
Cascade Alarm
PO Box 7459, Ste. B14
Kent, WA 98042
Project: Modifications to sprinkler layout
Job Address: 2615 W. Casino Rd, Suite 5D
Plan Review No: K1401-003

 g``'" y'rE ,E_.
/Z $
__ /  ;
Dear Mr. Stokesberry,
In response to the recent application for a new suppression construction permit, the plans have been
examined and you are advised that the permit review cannot be resumed until the following issues are
resolved. Please note that although the sprinkler contractor may not be providing all of the work requested,
the documentation of this work is required to obtain a sprinkler permit.
A double-check detector valve assembly (DCDA) should be shown on the drawings to replace the single
check detector that our records indicate for the fire service of this building.
a. Correspondence dated March 8, 2012 that new suppression work would trigger this requirement
was sent to the owner listed on Snohomish County parcel records.
b. A Public Works permit will be required. Please contact Benyam Stephanos, Public Works Plan
Reviewer, to discuss this requirement, or if you have questions about Public Works plan review
for the fire service. Benyam Stephanos can be reached at 425-257-7289.
2. Indicate what backflow assembly is serving the fire service for building 5, if that is the building housing
suite 5D.
3. All replacements of a single check detector to a double check detector should be installed by a private
contractor, since the city only installs new services upon request.
4. The fire service for the tenant space should be shown from the tenant space to the city main, including
the cross connection.
5. The revised sprinkler submittal will require three copies of the following, so that the submittal can be
reviewed:
a. A catalog cut indicating the DCDA manufacturer's model in the Backflow Prevention Assemblies
Approved for Installation in Washington State', published by the Washington State Department
L^
c.
d.
of Health, current edition.
A plan and section of the intended location and installation of the
located in an interior or an exterior location, to comply with
Construction Drawings 515 or 523, attached.
The model number of the DCDA should be shown on the drawings.
The routing of the fire service from the city main should be shown
of the building.
DCDA. The DCDA can be
City of Everett Standard
relative to the property line
