August 31, 2016 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., August 31, 2016, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. <br /> Moore Historic City Hall, President Murphy presiding. Upon roll call, it was <br /> found that Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy Franklin, Bader, <br /> Stonecipher, and Tuohy were present. Mayor Stephanson was excused. <br /> Vice President Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 24, 2016, City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. Council Member Franklin abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson was excused. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> President Murphy thanked Mayor Stephanson and congratulated City staff <br /> for the smooth coordination of the Trump presidential candidate rally held <br /> yesterday at Xfinity Arena. <br /> Council Members echoed thanks and appreciation for City staff and crews <br /> assisting with the presidential candidate event. <br /> Council Member Moore announced that a Budget Subcommittee meeting <br /> is tentative scheduled for September 14, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. <br /> Council Member Roberts reported on the discussion regarding Council <br /> representation that took place this evening at the General Government <br /> Subcommittee meeting. He thanked David Stalheim, Planning, for his <br /> assistance with compiling information for this meeting. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher commented on her recent visit to see the <br /> Chuck Close exhibition, which is currently on view at the Schack Art <br /> Center. <br /> 277 <br />
