SCOPE The purpose of this study is to explore and characterize the site surface and subsurface conditions, and to provide recommendations for site improvements. Specifically, our scope of services includes the following: 1. Review available soil and geologic maps of the area, as well as other documentation pertaining to the site. 2. Map the conditions on the slope, perform hand-tool excavations, and evaluate current slope stability conditions. 3. Provide recommendations for repairing the landslide and restoring the slope. 4. Provide our opinion regarding the existing retaining walls and provide recommendations for improvements,if needed. 5. Provide recommendations for long-term maintenance of the slope. 6. Provide recommendations for drainage and erosion control improvements 7. Document the results of our findings, conclusions, and recommendations in a written geotechnical letter. SITE CONDITIONS Surface Conditions The property is an irregular-shaped parcel covering approximately 0.45 acres. The property generally slopes down to the north and northwest to a steep northwest-facing slope. The site is occupied by a single-family residence and a detached garage within the southern portion of the property along Madrona Avenue. Five tiers of short concrete block retaining walls are located directly below and to the northwest of the existing residence along the top of a steep ravine slope within the northwestern portion of the property. The property is bordered to the north by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Right-of- Way,to the east and west by residential properties,and to the south by Madrona Avenue, NELSON GEOTECHNICAL ASSOCIATES, INC,
