June 4, 2014 <br /> Greg Weyer, Everett, expressed concern that the tax increases outweigh <br /> the cuts to the city budget. <br /> Tina Hokanson, Everett, commented on the difference in synergy between <br /> a few people reporting back on issues to a group and when all members <br /> of a group hear the same information at the same time and can discuss it <br /> together. <br /> Cletus Skrabak, Everett, spoke regarding the proposed budget. He stated <br /> that it is skewed toward labor with far more being added in taxes and fees <br /> than in cuts to labor. <br /> COUNCIL BRIEFING AGENDA: <br /> COUNCIL BILL NO. 1405-23 <br /> FIRST READING: <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to taxes, including Utility Tax and Natural <br /> Gas Use Tax, and repealing Ordinances No. 2711, 3122, 4019, <br /> 1022-84, 1418-87, 1722-90, 2010-94, 2200-97, 2253-97, 2342-98 <br /> Presented by Susy Haugen, Finance <br /> Council Member Roberts questioned several items in the proposed <br /> ordinance related to telephone and cellular service. CAA/CFO Bryant <br /> stated that they would do some background work and get back to him. <br /> Council Member Murphy questioned whether it would be possible to make <br /> the ordinance effective January 1, 2015, rather than in October 2014. <br /> Council Members Moore and Anderson concurred with the suggested <br /> change. <br /> CAA/CFO Bryant stated that they would make that change to the <br /> proposed ordinance for the third and final reading. <br /> 147 <br />
