June 11, 2014 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., June 11, 2014, in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall, Vice President Bader presiding. Upon roll call it was found Mayor <br /> Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Murphy, Gipson, Bader, <br /> Stonecipher, and Anderson were present. Council President Moore was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Gipson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the June 4, 2014, City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. Council Member Gipson abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson commented on a record attendance of 16,000 people <br /> for last weekend's Sorticulture event. He expressed appreciation for the <br /> exceptional work done by the cultural arts and transportation services <br /> staff. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Murphy provided a liaison report on his attendance at the <br /> monthly Snohomish Health District Board meeting this week. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher provided a liaison report on her attendance <br /> at the Parks Board meeting last evening and that the board adopted the <br /> Integrated Pest Management Plan. She also commented that she <br /> attended this year's successful Sorticulture event. <br /> Council Member Roberts echoed comments about the success of the <br /> Sorticulture event. He provided a liaison report on his attendance at the <br /> Snohomish County Tomorrow meeting held two weeks ago. Council <br /> Member Roberts also commented on his attendance at a meeting held <br /> last night by Train Watch, a group that has been looking at rail operations. <br /> Council Member Roberts also announced that the Sound Transit long- <br /> range draft environmental impact statement will be issued on Friday to be <br /> followed by a comment period and a number of public meetings. <br /> 154 <br />
