October 5, 2016 <br /> Debra Bryant stated she would pass this request along. <br /> Council Member Moore commented on safety concerns that occur in all <br /> neighborhoods and how collective efforts can make a difference. He <br /> stated that one of those is our visioning process. He thanked the Mayor <br /> and President Murphy for putting together the Vision Committee workshop <br /> that was held last Saturday, and he encouraged citizens, especially <br /> communities of culture new to Everett, to look online and participate in the <br /> visioning process. <br /> Council Member Bader thanked Police Chief Templeman for attending the <br /> low-barrier housing meeting last evening to explain what the police <br /> department is doing to assist all neighborhoods with challenges. Council <br /> Member Bader suggested it would be beneficial to get leaders in other <br /> cities that have low-barrier housing projects to share information and what <br /> neighborhood impacts they may have experienced. <br /> Council Member Roberts provided a recap of today's General Government <br /> Subcommittee meeting at which the focus was to look specifically at <br /> recommendations from the Charter Review Committee regarding <br /> transportation and the prospect of forming a separate Transit Advisory <br /> Committee. Council Member Roberts also reported on his participation in <br /> a state study to look at rail safety where he was able to share concerns <br /> with representatives from the rail community. Additionally, Council <br /> Member Roberts stated he is working on a proposal called ECO:nomics <br /> that addresses building the green economy in Washington State and looks <br /> at issues associated with climate change. <br /> President Murphy provided a liaison report that Dr. Gary Goldbaum, <br /> Snohomish Health District director, has announced he will retire this <br /> spring.
