From: Kevin Fagerstrom
Sent: Monday, March 07, 2016 1:32 PM
To: Jeff Heilman
Cc: Ted Budden
Subject: RE: 1025 52nd St
He's kinda mis-quoting me a bit. I can't get at the structure, so I don't know its size. It does appear to me to be
right on the property line and I didn't find any evidence of permits either. I don't believe that as a detached
structure, he is supposed to have power to it. The permit that I want him to get is for all of the repair work
that he did to the main house after the fire. Also, if you look at my pictures you can see that he poured a new
foundation and added about 3' to the west side of the house. I absolutely agree that a field inspection would
be in order before permits are issued.
Thanks!
From: Jeff Heilman
Sent: Monday, March 07, 2016 1:26 PM
To: Kevin Fagerstrom
Cc: Ted Budden
Subject: 1025 52nd St
Kevin,
Mr. Kalyan came into the counter this morning to get an electrical permit for a structure in his back yard. The violation
letter that you sent out indicates that the structure has been being used as a dwelling unit that was discovered after a
fire. Mr. Kalyan indicated that he has a structure that is 10 feet by 14 feet and that the only violation is that he did not
get an electrical permit for this structure.
When I looked at the aerial photos of the property, it appears that there is a structure in the rear yard that is
approximately 450 s.f. or larger, yet he states that all he needs is an electrical permit, and that you indicated that there
were no problems with the structure(s) in the rear yard.
Please advise as to whether or not you feel a field inspection by Chief Building Inspector Budden and myself would be
appropriate, and any other information that would be helpful in determining permit requirements.
Thank you.
Jeff Heilman
Development Technician
City of Everett
3200 Cedar St.
Everett Wa 98201
(425) 257-8976
NOTICE: All emails, and attachments, sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure
pursuant to the Public Records Act(RCW 42.56)
2/Z
