Unfortunately the code does
require that the minimum width of stairs shall be 36" in cleQr width at all points above the permitted handrail
height (34"-38" above tread nosing) and below the required headroom height (6'-8"). Which means that the
width of the stairs will need to be modified to meet all of the requirements of section R311.7
If you have further questions feel free to contact me at the numbers listed below.
Sincerely
Jeff Heilman
Development Technician
City of Everett
Engineering/ Public Services Division
3200 Cedar Street, Everett WA 98201
Phone 425-257-8976
Fax 425-257-8856
Section R311.7
-----Original Message-----
From: Sam Akyel [mailto:samakyel@gmail.com]
Sent: Tuesday, July 30, 2013 2:10 PM
To: Jeff Heilman
Subject: Re: 2007 Oakes Adult Family Home
Thank you for your efforts.
On 7/30/2013 1:33 PM, Jeff Heilman wrote:
> Mr. Akyel,
