approved protocols, including, but not limited to, the American Heart <br /> Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) protocol.; or <br /> 2) at least one of the following ALS 2 procedures: <br /> (a) manual defibrillation/cardioversion; <br /> (b) endotracheal intubation; <br /> (c) central venous line; <br /> (d) cardiac pacing; <br /> (e) chest decompression; <br /> (f) surgical airway; or <br /> (g) intraosseous line. <br /> (3) Patients for whom BLS transport is provided by the Fire Department shall be <br /> billed at the rate of$488.00 per transport plus $15.42 per mile. For the purposes <br /> of this subsection, BLS means as follows: <br /> Transportation by ground ambulance vehicle and the provision of medically <br /> necessary supplies and services involving noninvasive emergency medical <br /> services requiring basic medical treatment skills. The ambulance must be staffed <br /> by an individual who is qualified, pursuant to state and local laws, to be an <br /> emergency medical technician basic (EMT basic). <br /> Section 2: If any section, subsection, clause, sentence or phrase of this Ordinance should <br /> be held invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the <br /> remaining portions of this Ordinance. <br /> Section 3: Nothing in this Ordinance is intended to be nor shall be construed to create or <br /> form the basis for any liability on the part of the City, its officers, employees or agents, <br /> for any injury or damage resulting from the failure of a building or other structure to <br /> comply with the provisions of this Ordinance, or by reason or in consequence of any <br /> inspection, notice, order, certificate, permission, approval, action, or inaction, authorized, <br /> issued, done or omitted in connection with the implementation or enforcement of this <br /> Ordinance. <br /> Section 4: Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding <br /> pending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes <br /> of action acquired or existing under any act or ordinance; nor shall any just or legal right <br /> or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Ordinance. <br /> Section 5: The City Clerk and the codifiers of this Ordinance are authorized to make <br /> necessary corrections to this Ordinance including,but not limited to, the correction of <br /> scrivener's clerical errors, references, ordinance numbering, section/subsection numbers <br /> and any references thereto. <br /> 3 <br />
