Whereas, the Fire Department has done a review of the actual costs of ALS 2 transports <br /> and determined the average cost as well as compared the average cost to the fees imposed <br /> by other jurisdictions for ALS 2 transports; and <br /> Whereas, the rate for mileage should reflect an adjustment for inflation and/or increases <br /> in fuel costs; <br /> NOW THEREFORE THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Section 25 of Ordinance No. 2792-04 (EMC 5.72.220(N)) which reads as <br /> follows: <br /> Fire Department Transport Fee shall be as follows: <br /> (1) All patients for whom ALS transport is provided by the Fire Department shall <br /> be billed for such transport at the rate of$675.00 per transport plus $15.00 per <br /> mile mileage. <br /> (2)All patients for whom BLS transport is provided by the Fire Department shall <br /> be billed for such transport at the rate of$475.00 per transport plus $15.00 per <br /> mile milegage [sic]. <br /> Is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Fire Department Transport Fees shall be as follows: <br /> (1) Patients for whom the Fire Department provides ALS 1 transport shall be <br /> billed at the rate of$694.00 per transport plus $15.42 per mile. For the purposes <br /> of this subsection, ALS 1 means the following: <br /> Transportation by ground ambulance vehicle and the provision of <br /> medically necessary supplies and services, including the provision of an <br /> ALS assessment or at least one ALS intervention, which means a <br /> procedure that is, pursuant to state and local laws, beyond the scope of <br /> practice of an emergency medical technician—basic (EMT-Basic). <br /> (2) Patients for whom the Fire Department provides ALS 2 transport shall be <br /> billed at the rate of$800.00 per transport plus $15.42 per mile. For the purposes <br /> of this subsection, ALS 2 means as follows: <br /> Transportation by ground ambulance vehicle and the provision of medically <br /> necessary supplies and services including either <br /> 1) at least three separate administrations of one or more medications by <br /> intravenous push/bolus or by continuous infusion in accordance with <br /> 2 <br />
