September 10, 2014 <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Anderson asked that, on the anniversary of 911, we <br /> thank the first responders in our community for their service. He reported <br /> on his attendance at the Port Gardner Neighborhood meeting. <br /> Council Member Roberts reported that he spoke with Sound Transit <br /> regarding the security issues at Everett Station, and they are working on <br /> ways to improve the situation. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher stated that she also attended the Port <br /> Gardner Neighborhood meeting on Monday night. She reported on her <br /> attendance at the Parks Board meeting where they discussed the <br /> renaming of the American Legion Park overlook to the Hibulb Overlook <br /> and received an update on the Department of Ecology cleanup at Legion <br /> Park. <br /> Council Member Murphy gave a liaison report for the Snohomish Health <br /> District Board. The board received a briefing on a process whereby they <br /> will be adopting the "smoking in public places law" into their local code. <br /> The Board also discussed the 2015 budget and received training on the <br /> Open Public Meetings Act. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Deputy City Attorney Hall requested an executive session following the <br /> meeting concerning a real estate matter pursuant to RCW <br /> 42.30.110(1)(c). The session is anticipated to last 45 minutes with no <br /> announcement to follow. <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> Barbara Knorr, Everett, expressed concern regarding the increase in <br /> sewer rates and questioned why the rate is not based on water <br /> consumption. <br /> 252 <br />
