Intent: To ensure that site lighting contributes to the character of
the site and does not disturb adjacent residential areas.
Guidelines:
• Lighting shall be provided within parking lots and along pedestrian
walkways.
• Lighting fixtures shall be limited to heights of 24 feet for parking
lots and 18 feet for pedestrian walkways. All lighting shall be
shielded from producing off-site glare, either through exterior
shields or through optical design inside the fixture, so that the
direction of light is downward.
• Accent lighting should be used to highlight building/site entrances
and special landscape features.
4.1.8 Integration of Signs with Architecture:
Intent: To ensure that signage is part of the overall design of a
project and not additive or an afterthought.
Guidelines:
• Sign category "C" applies except for the following guidelines.
• The design of buildings and site plans shall identify locations and
sizes for future signs.
• An overall sign program for the hospital shall be established and
approved by the Planning Director. The sign program shall
indicate location, size and general design.
• Signs shall not project above the roof, parapet, or exterior wall.
• Signs shall be oriented to pedestrians.
