The Police Department needs to upgrade their VirTra V-300 firearms training <br /> simulator. This system was originally purchased in 2010 and the technology has begun to fail. VirTra <br /> Systems is the only known manufacturer of a multi-screen system which offers a more immersive and <br /> effective training environment. <br /> A new VirTra system would cost approximately$250,000. VirTra is able to leverage some of the original <br /> infrastructure and upgrade the existing system to current technology for less than half the cost of new. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt a resolution waiving public bidding requirements and approving the sole source purchase of <br /> equipment from VirTra Systems Inc. to upgrade the V-300 Firearms Training Simulator. <br /> 47 <br />
