The grant amount, $28,536, has been awarded with no matching fund requirement. The grant funds will provide for additional computer forensics equipment, evidence preparation equipment, a high-speed, high-use copier for use in the Police Records Public Disclosure Unit, and digital evidence cameras for distribution to patrol officers. The grant program period is October 1, 2008 - September 30, 2011. Due to several outstanding work orders, expenditures continued to be charged to Fund 301 in the first half of 2008. These expenditures totaled $112,544. The remaining fund balance to be transferred to Fund 119 is $1,283,434. Fund 301 is being closed due to a change in state law that no longer restricts a portion of the gas tax to be used exclusively for arterial street projects.
