• • 1 ORDINANCE NO. /12�U _�? 2 AN ORDINANCE regulating the construction operation and 3 maintenance of public and private sewers and repealing Ordinance No. 's 3455, 3546, 3735, 29-69, 252-73, and 4 1108-85. 5 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 6 SECTION 1 : DEFINITIONS. 7 Whenever used in this ordinance: 8 A. "Everett municipal sewer system" or "sewer system" means the 9 10 system of conduits, pumps, treatment plants and structures used for the purpose of conveying from their source, treating in any manner, and 11 conveying to final points of disposal all wastes of any nature permitted by 12 this ordinance to enter said system. Specifically included as integral 13 parts of the system are all conduits of any nature forming a part of the 14 general network of conduits or connected directly or indirectly to the 15 network; all pumps, treatment plants and structures of any kind used in 16 connection with the collection, treatment and disposal of the wastes handled 17 by the system; and all appurtenances to any of the above, either physically 18 or functionally connected therewith. Storm, sanitary and combined sewers, 19 as defined below, are all included as parts of the municipal sewer system; 20 B. "Mayor" means either the Mayor personally or any of his duly 21 authorized representatives; 22 C. "Director of Public Works" means either the Public Works Director 23 personally or any of his authorized representatives. 24 D. "Sanitary sewers" means those sewers which are designated to 25 carry all waste matter permitted by this chapter to enter the system other 26 than surface drainage water; 27 E. "Storm sewers" means those sewers which are designated to carry 28 nothing but surface drainage waters; 29 F. "Combined sewers" mean those sewers which will carry both waste 30 matter permitted by this ordinance to enter the system and surface drainage 31 water; 32
