• <br /> • <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. /12�U _�? <br /> 2 <br /> AN ORDINANCE regulating the construction operation and <br /> 3 maintenance of public and private sewers and repealing <br /> Ordinance No. 's 3455, 3546, 3735, 29-69, 252-73, and <br /> 4 1108-85. <br /> 5 <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 6 <br /> SECTION 1 : DEFINITIONS. <br /> 7 <br /> Whenever used in this ordinance: <br /> 8 <br /> A. "Everett municipal sewer system" or "sewer system" means the <br /> 9 <br /> 10 system of conduits, pumps, treatment plants and structures used for the <br /> purpose of conveying from their source, treating in any manner, and <br /> 11 <br /> conveying to final points of disposal all wastes of any nature permitted by <br /> 12 <br /> this ordinance to enter said system. Specifically included as integral <br /> 13 <br /> parts of the system are all conduits of any nature forming a part of the <br /> 14 <br /> general network of conduits or connected directly or indirectly to the <br /> 15 <br /> network; all pumps, treatment plants and structures of any kind used in <br /> 16 <br /> connection with the collection, treatment and disposal of the wastes handled <br /> 17 <br /> by the system; and all appurtenances to any of the above, either physically <br /> 18 <br /> or functionally connected therewith. Storm, sanitary and combined sewers, <br /> 19 <br /> as defined below, are all included as parts of the municipal sewer system; <br /> 20 <br /> B. "Mayor" means either the Mayor personally or any of his duly <br /> 21 <br /> authorized representatives; <br /> 22 <br /> C. "Director of Public Works" means either the Public Works Director <br /> 23 <br /> personally or any of his authorized representatives. <br /> 24 <br /> D. "Sanitary sewers" means those sewers which are designated to <br /> 25 <br /> carry all waste matter permitted by this chapter to enter the system other <br /> 26 <br /> than surface drainage water; <br /> 27 <br /> E. "Storm sewers" means those sewers which are designated to carry <br /> 28 <br /> nothing but surface drainage waters; <br /> 29 <br /> F. "Combined sewers" mean those sewers which will carry both waste <br /> 30 <br /> matter permitted by this ordinance to enter the system and surface drainage <br /> 31 <br /> water; <br /> 32 <br />
