1 shall refuse to modify, remove, replace or complete any portion of the work <br /> 2 when so instructed shall by such refusal forfeit his license, and the <br /> 3 persons making such connection, or their successors in interest, shall have <br /> 4 no right to claim any damages in consequence of such permission being <br /> 5 revoked or annulled. <br /> 6 <br /> SECTION 11 : CONNECTION SPECIFICATIONS. <br /> 7 <br /> A. The Director of Public Works is authorized to establish design <br /> 8 <br /> and construction standards for sewer connection and all connections with <br /> 9 <br /> public sewers or drains shall be made in a workmanlike manner and in <br /> 10 <br /> accordance with said City of Everett Design and Construction standards. <br /> 11 <br /> B. All excavations made in any street or alley shall be protected <br /> 12 <br /> and guarded by said permittee, both by day and night, with the proper <br /> 13 <br /> display of signals and lights, and the said permittee shall be responsible <br /> 14 <br /> for all accidents caused by negligence in this respect. Work in the street <br /> 15 <br /> must be done in a manner that will occasion the least inconvenience to the <br /> 16 <br /> public. One-half of the street must be kept clear for the passage of <br /> 17 <br /> vehicles, and bridgeways must be provided on sidewalks for foot passengers. <br /> 18 <br /> As soon as any such sewer or drain is completed and inspected, the permittee <br /> 19 <br /> and/or sewer contractor in charge of such work shall immediately restore and <br /> 20 <br /> maintain all streets, sidewalks, parking strips and other public areas <br /> 21 <br /> disturbed or altered in the course of any side sewer or drainage work to the <br /> 22 <br /> original surface condition and, in the event the applicant fails to <br /> 23 <br /> immediately restore the area to its original condition, the City shall make <br /> 24 <br /> such restoration and charge the cost thereof to the applicant who shall , <br /> 25 <br /> upon receiving written notice of the amount, make immediate payments thereof <br /> 26 <br /> to the City Treasurer. All sewer trenches which have settled due to <br /> 27 <br /> inadequate backfilling operations shall be immediately restored by permittee <br /> 28 <br /> and he shall at all times remain liable therefor. All work within the <br /> 29 <br /> limits of any street or alley must be prosecuted to completion with due <br /> 30 <br /> diligence, and if, in the judgment of the inspector, any excavation is left <br /> 31 <br /> open beyond a reasonable time he shall cause the same to be filled and the <br /> 32 <br /> 7 <br />
