I <br /> I <br /> 1 The luminaire arm shall be Type 1, 16 foot maximum and the <br /> 2 luminaire mounting height shall be 40 feet or 50 feet as noted in <br /> 3 the plans. 111 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Type SD Type SD standards require special design. All special design <br /> 6 shall be based on the latest AASHTO Standard Specifications for <br /> 7 Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires and Traffic <br /> 8 Signals and pre-approved plans and as follows: <br /> 9Il <br /> 10 1. A 90 mph wind loading shall be used. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 2. The Design Life and Recurrence Interval shall be 50 <br /> 13 years for luminaire support structures. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 3. Fatigue design shall conform to AASHTO Section 11, <br /> 16 Table 11-1 using fatigue category Ill. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Complete calculations for structural design, including anchor bolt <br /> 19 details, shall be prepared by a Professional Engineer, licensed <br /> 20 under Title 18 RCW, State of Washington, in the branch of Civil <br /> 21 or Structural Engineering or by an individual holding valid <br /> 22 registration in another state as a civil or structural Engineer. <br /> 23 <br /> 24 All shop drawings and the cover page of all calculation <br /> 25 submittals shall carry the Professional Engineer's original <br /> 26 signature, date of signature, original seal, registration number, <br /> 27 and date of expiration. The cover page shall include the contract <br /> 28 number, contract title, and sequential index to calculation page <br /> 29 numbers. Two copies of the associated design calculations shall <br /> 30 be submitted for approval along with shop drawings. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Details for handholes and luminaire arm connections are <br /> 33 available from the Bridges and Structures Office. <br /> 34 I 35 Foundations for various types of standards shall be as follows: <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Type PPB As noted on Standard Plan J-20.10-02 <br /> 38 Type PS As noted on Standard Plan J-21.10-03 <br /> 39 Type I As noted on Standard Plan J-21.10-03 <br /> 40 Type FB As noted on Standard Plan J-21.10-03 <br /> 41 Type RM As noted on Standard Plan J-21.10-03 <br /> 42 Type CCTV As noted on Standard Plan J-29.15-00 <br /> 43 Type II As noted in the Plans. <br /> 44 Type Ill As noted in the Plans. <br /> 45 Type IV As noted in the Plans and Standard Plan J-27.10 <br /> 46 Type V As noted in the Plans and Standard Plan J-27.10 <br /> 47 Type SD As noted in the Plans. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 When so indicated on the plans, the steel traffic signal standards and any <br /> 50 associated mast arms or luminaire arms shall be powder coated with a protective <br /> 51 coating for exterior galvanized steel.
