I
I
1 The conductors from the generator transfer switch enclosure to the rack mounted
I
2 automatic transfer switch shall be enclosed in nylon mesh sleeve.
3
4 The enclosure door shall be labeled with the letters "GTS".
5
I6 UPS Internal Components
7 The following equipment shall be furnished and mounted to the EIA rack in the UPS
8 cabinet.
I9
10 1. Controller Power Module
11 The 1100W/VA UPS module power module shall be designed to operate in
I 12 extreme environments (-40 to 74 degrees C) while ensuring loads remain
13 protected and running during power outages and other power disturbances.
14 The UPS module shall provide wide range Automatic Voltage Regulation
15 (AVR) to lengthen battery life by providing protection without transferring to
16 backup mode during voltage surge or sag. The module shall have
17 programmable control and report dry contacts to allow monitoring and
I 18 controlling of key functions. The unit's temperature compensated battery
19 charging shall protect batteries from overcharging or undercharging. Local
20 and remote monitoring and control shall be via RS232 port and Ethernet
21 SNMP interface. The unit shall have one 48 VDC input terminal block and
I22 one 120VAC output terminal block with dual 5-15R receptacle.
23
24 2. Automatic Transfer Switch (UATS)
25 The 120V/30A universal automatic transfer switch (UATS) shall be a three
26 stage bypass switch that allows for the UPS to be bypassed and still maintain
27 the ability to keep batteries fully charged. It shall act as a fail-safe device by
I
28 switching the critical load to the utility line should a fault occur in the UPS.
29 This transfer switch shall also include a manual bypass switch which shall
30 allow servicing the UPS or replacing the batteries without equipment
I
31 downtime.
32
33 3. Surge Suppressor Assembly, 120/240VAC
I 34
35 4. Receptacle Plate Assembly
36
37 The following equipment shall be installed on the battery shelves:
I38
39 1. Battery (Four batteries shall be provided)
40 Batteries shall be BCI group size 31 valve regulated lead acid gel cell
I 41 batteries. Batteries shall provide 220 minutes of run time calculated using
42 25A DC constant current load. Battery terminals shall be '/" - 20 UNC
43 threaded. All battery specifications shall meet or exceed controller power
I 44 module manufacturer's requirements.
45 2. Battery Management System
46 The battery charge management system shall be for 48V string. It shall monitor
I 47 and protect batteries for runtime optimization and longer battery life by spreading
48 charge voltage equally across all batteries. The battery management unit shall be
49 CSA and UL approved and shall come with a battery interface cable.
50 3.
